With the SMS-to-Email facility, the incoming text message is converted to an email and sent to any email address the subscriber specifies. The subscriber is then able to process the message in any way they choose and to build their own database of mobiles that have texted their number. A subscriber can respond to any incoming message by simply replying to the incoming email using their normal email program, for example, Microsoft Outlook. Text-back subscribers are also able to bulk email any number of mobiles, at any time, again by using their normal email program. The SMS-to-Email facility can also be used as a means of sending general email messages from mobiles. In this mode of working, a database is maintained of mobiles permitted to send emails via a subscriber's allocated mobile number. These specific mobiles may start a message with the email address of the intended recipient. The Text-back Message Centre formats the incoming message as an email and forwards it to the specified recipient |
